About Betsy

I have definitely had my own share of career- and job-related angst: initial cluelessness about what I wanted to do after college, followed by some drifting, a lot of temp work in a variety of companies, a few jobs that were lousy matches for my interests and preferred work style, a stint in a very badly managed company, and, finally, “settling down,” so to speak, as an educator, writer, and counselor.

I now work as a career counselor, helping people find more meaning and balance in their lives and find work that truly feeds their souls and matches their values. Since I hear so many stories about difficult work environments, I have developed a personal mission to support strategies that improve the workplace and make people actually want to go to work.

I combine my unique professional and educational background into my work with clients:

  • Private practice career counselor/psychotherapist
  • Clinical training in career counseling at the University of Colorado at Boulder
  • Master’s degree in counseling from Regis University in Denver
  • Meditation instructor at Naropa University and for individuals and small groups in the Denver area
  • Professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorelli of the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society
  • Professional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a mindfulness-based psychotherapy
  • Coursework in ecopsychology at Naropa University in Boulder
